Matlock and Goodman take 2nd Place Pro Quad at the Best in the Desert – Henderson Fabtech Classic. Matlock Racing rider takes 1st Expert Ironman Quad.

On the morning of December 6, 2008 the #1Q Pro Quad Team of Wayne Matlock and Harold Goodman lined up at the start of the Henderson Fabtech Classic. The race was started with two riders side by side every thirty seconds. Matlock drew the second starting position in the Pro Quad class and would start next to quad #4Q. Off the start, Matlock pulled the holeshot and used his Honda TRX700xx to pull away.

Matlock held his lead for the majority of the first 50 mile lap passing many motorcycle entries and fighting the cold early morning chill before being passed by the Pro Quad entry of Greg Stuart.

Harold Goodman would jump on the quad for lap two and was able to continue the pace set by Matlock. Working his way through thick dust, Goodman was able to pass more motorcycle entries before passing the quad off to Matlock for his final lap of the race.

With slower riders now spread all over the 50 mile course, Matlock picked his lines carefully and held on to the second place position before handing the quad off to Goodman for the final lap of the race. Goodman continued to pick his way through the rough and rocky course while dodging slower riders in the dust before crossing the finish line in second place just minutes behind the lead quad.

The Matlock Racing sponsored entry, Josh Caster finished with a 1st place win in the Expert Ironman class.

Josh Caster started side by side on the first line of the Ironman Quad class and riding the Matlock Racing sponsored Honda TRX700xx pulled the holeshot. Caster continued to lead the Ironman class for all three laps and was able to pass all the Expert class quads in the process before finishing an astounding 43 minutes ahead of second place.
